Gujarat govt to regularize irregular constructions in GIDC estates

Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat has decided to regularize the illegal constructions in Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) estates. The constructions in the range of 50 to 300 square meters will be regularized after levying fees. The scheme shall be effective for four months. The scheme shall not be effective for hazardous industries and those units that have done construction outside the plot area.
There are over 220 GIDC townships in Gujarat that have over 70,000 industrial units. They all shall be covered under this scheme. The fees declared are Rs. 3,000 for up to 50 sqm, Rs. 6000 for 50 to 100 sqm, Rs. 12,000 for 100 to 200 sqm Rs. 18,000 for over 200 sqm, and Rs. 18,000 plus Rs. 150 per sqm for 300 sqm construction. While these rates shall be effective for residential, twice the rate shall be effective for other usages. For commercial and residential purposes, up to 50% of total land use in the common plot shall be regularized. The scheme is not effective for change of use and additional height increase. DeshGujarat
