April 13, 2023
Bodakdev: The parents of the students protested against Ahmedabad International School for charging an extra fee of Rs. 1 lakh 60 thousand for an additional course.
The parents alleged that the school charges this fee without permission from the Fee Regulatory Committee (FRC) and have lodged a complaint at the District Education Officer’s (DEO) office. They also allege discrimination by the school against students who do not take the additional course.
According to one parent, the school has given two choices, Option In and Option Out. Option Out refers to regular studies, while Option In is a program with extra-curricular activities. The school charges an additional fee for the Option In program and discriminates between students based on this, the parents alleged. The current annual fee of the school is Rs. 1 lakh 23 thousand, and the Option In program includes maths, library, sports activities, dance, and more. DeshGujarat
