AMC differs nod to cattle control policy
April 14, 2023
The standing committee of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) postponed the decision on the proposed new policy for controlling stray cattle and overcrowding in municipal cattle pounds due to ambiguity regarding licensing and fines.
The new policy, which has been put together in accordance with the state’s 2012 public health bylaws, enables the civic body to file police complaints against bike owners who follow CNCD cars. The ordinance also stipulates that cattle owners must possess the land in order to keep cattle; otherwise, the animals will be taken to the municipal cattle pound.
The committee postponed the decision as there were issues related to licensing and determining the appropriate fine amounts. DeshGujarat
