Rs. 28.46 crore new building of ITI Kubernagar inaugurated in Gujarat

Ahmedabad: The Industries Minister, Mr. Balwantsinh Rajput, inaugurated the newly constructed multi-storied building of the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Kubernagar. The event also saw the launch of the Pedilite and Nokia Center of Excellence.

This multi-storied building of ITI Kubernagar was constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 28.46 crore. The building provides 45 workshops, 35 theory rooms, and 14 additional rooms for placement counseling, IT lab, conference hall, canteen, staff room, and administration.

The Industries Minister stated that the state government plans to establish five mega ITIs in Gujarat. The inauguration of the newly constructed multi-storied building of ITI Kubernagar marked the completion of one such mega ITI, with four more to be prepared in the future.

Rajput emphasized on the role of ITI Kubernagar in realizing the vision of Digital India and Make in India, as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The aim is to provide high-quality technical education to students, enabling them to secure employment in the country. The minister highlighted the importance of adapting education to the changing technological landscape.

The state government’s plan includes setting up five mega ITIs across different zones, providing local-level training and employment opportunities. Currently, the ITIs in Gujarat offer 41 different courses.

Speaking about employment in the state, the minister expressed that Gujarat leads in employment generation across the country, with the lowest unemployment rate compared to other states.

During the event, Nokia, a leading telecom sector company, signed an MOU with the state government to participate in the five mega ITIs. DeshGujarat
