Nearly 11.5 inches rain in Dhoraji in 8 hours; Nearly 14 inches in Sutrapada

Rajkot: Dhoraji town in Rajkot district of Saurashtra region in Gujarat is heavily waterlogged after over 9.33 inches of rain during noon to 6 pm today July 18. The taluka and town started receiving rains post 12 noon and it continued till 4 pm at around one inch per hour pace. However post 4 pm the pace increased to nearly 3 inches per hour and by 6 pm, Dhoraji received over 9.33 inch rainfall. A large number of vehicles are half submerged in the town, with waterlogging at all places. Sutrapada town in Gir Somnath district received nearly 9 inches of rainfall in 12 hours period from 6 am to 6 pm today. Kodinar, Prabhas Patan-Veraval, Surat City, Talala, and Mendarda are other places that received above 100 mm of rain during this period. DeshGujarat
