Gujarat govt inks 4 MoUs for proposed investment of Rs. 1401 crore in chemicals sector

Gandhinagar: Ahead of the Vibrant Summit 2024, four MoUs with a total investment of 1401 crores in the Chemicals sector were signed today in the presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel here.

The industrial units under these MoUs will be established at Saikha and Dahej GIDCs in the Bharuch district, generating approximately 2285 potential employment opportunities.

These MoUs include projects for a battery chemicals unit for electric vehicles by Gujarat Fluoro Chemicals (Rs 50 crore) , a plastic bottles recycling project by Savita Green Tech Limited (Rs. 493 crore), a specialty chemicals plant by Harcross Chemicals Private Limited (Rs. 300 crore), and a Dyes and Pigment Intermediates manufacturing plant by Ashu Organic India Pvt. Ltd (Rs. 108 crore).

In the two MoU signing events in this series held today and the last Wednesday, a total of 10 MoUs, with investments worth 2761 crores, have been concluded. These industries are expected to create more than 5,000 potential employment opportunities in the coming days, including 1800 in the textile sector, 700 in the engineering sector, 500 in the pharmaceutical sector, and 2285 in the chemical sector.

Among four MoUs signed today, the one signed by GFC proposes to produce Lithium Hexafloro Phosphet which is used as battery chemicals in electric vehicles with an investment of Rs. 50 crore. All units for which MoUs are signed today are expected to start operations by year 2026.
