Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat has taken a decision to offer one additional power connection to farmers with the same survey number in the farm if they use rainwater (surface water) for farming. Power minister Kanubhai Desai declared this decision and said it would increase crop production and strengthen the farmers economically. He said the farmers who use canals, ponds, water, bays, dam, check dam, Sujalam Sufalam scheme covered ponds, farm-side ponds, and other rainwater linked resources will get one additional power connection for farming. Desai said, this would result in the saving of groundwater resources and also the saving in power bills for farmers. This will also help in the reduction of carbon emissions. DeshGujarat
