Ahmedabad: A security breach occurred during the India versus Australia ICC World Cup Final match here at the Narendra Modi Stadium when a person supporting Palestine entered the field and ran toward Virat Kohli. The cops, including those from the Crime Branch Ahmedabad, were quick to detain him and escort him out of the stadium.

This supporter of Palestine intruded onto the field and hugged Virat Kohli in the 14th over of India’s innings. Later, the man was brought to the Chandkheda Police Station in the city.

While he was detained by the police, the man told the media, ‘My name is John… I am from Australia. I entered (the field) to meet Virat Kohli. I support Palestine…'”
