November 23, 2023
Khavda: The government-owned Power Grid Corporation sanctioned two proposals on Wednesday to invest approximately Rs 367 crore in two electricity transmission projects, including one in Gujarat.
The Committee of Directors on Investment on Projects granted investment approval for two projects in its meeting on November 22, 2023, according to a BSE filing.
As per the filing, the board greenlit the transmission system for evacuating power from the potential Renewable Energy Zone in the Khavda Area of Gujarat under Phase IV (7GW)-Part E4, estimated to cost Rs 224.41 crore. This project is scheduled to be commissioned by July 9, 2025.
It is noteworthy that the Gujarat Hybrid Renewable Energy Park, situated in Khavda and currently in the construction phase, is a forthcoming renewable energy facility. Once finalized, the park is poised to produce 30 gigawatts of electricity, harnessing both solar panels and wind turbines. Spanning an expansive 72,600 hectares (726 km2) of unused land, it is anticipated to become the largest hybrid renewable energy park globally upon completion. DeshGujarat
