Over 37,000 Ahir women dressed in traditional, perform Raas in Dwarka in Maharaas function

Dwarka: More than 37,000 women from Ahir community, dressed in traditional joined Maha Raas performance in pilgrim town Dwarka today. Akhil Bharatiya Ahirani Maharas Sanghathan had organized this grand performance in memory of Raas by Usha, the daughter of Banasur and daughter in law of Shri Krishna.
Akhil Bharatiya Yadav Samaj and Ahirani Mahila Mandal were also the organizing bodies of this event which was held at a large campus of ACC Cement company that has been named as Nand dham campus.
According to organizers, over 37,000 Ahir women from all over the world and mainly from Saurashtra region had registered and joined for their participation in this event. Around one and half lakh Ahir Yadav community people also remained present in the function.
All 37,000 participants were given Gita book as gift. Cleaning of the ground, erection of tent, arrangements for parking, lodging and boarding of the guests etc preparations started over a month ago.
Among those who joined the performance was also Jamnagar Lok Sabha member Poonamben Madam who was dressed in traditional Ahir community outfit.
Ahir women also performed mass worship of religious flag of Dwarkadhish Mandir a day ago. Entire Dwarka town was hugely crowded due to the event. A business expo was also organized on the sidelines of the event. Organizers had made 68 rounds, each with 1500 women.
