Bonsai and Topiary Exhibition Show opens at Sindhu Bhavan road in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Chief Minister today opened the Bonsai Show on Sindhu Bhavan Road in the city. This first bonsai show is organised by the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) after the super success of the flower show in January this year. The Bonsai show will remain open for visitors until March 10. The Bonsai show spreads over 12,000 square meters of area. As many as 1500 bonsai and topiary plants are showcased in this exhibition. These trees are in the age range of 10 to 200 years. The exhibition has been designed along the lines of Zen Garden (Japanese Garden). Some of the trees showcased in this exhibition are Olive, Fycus, Adniyam, Vad, Piplo (sacred fig), Khati Ambli, Nikadevia, Zed plant (Jade), Pipal, Gugal, Legastomiya and Albizia (Alfijiya) among others. The entry ticket for this Bonsai exhibition is Rs. 50.
In the exhibition, people will be able to witness over 120 exotic plant species, bonsai trees ranging from 1 to 150 years old, a display of more than 1000 plants, a Zen garden, and a cactus garden. Fruit-bearing plants, exquisite designer topiaries, and serene water features are also highlights of the exhibition.
