Amreli to get broad gauge connectivity; E – Shilanyas performed by PM Modi

Amreli: The district headquarters in Amreli will get a broad gauge railway line. Groundbreaking for this was performed today virtually by Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi. Amreli has been demanding broad gauge connectivity of railways for over three decades. The railway station here was built by Britishers in 1912. It will get broad gauge connectivity from Khijadiya at a cost of Rs. 178 crore. Presently the civil work for the same is underway at a cost of Rs. 85 crore. Apart from this, Rs. 129 crores Amreli Gavadka Chowkdi to Bagasara package works on the Mahuva – Jetnpur national highway were also kicked off through virtual Shilanyas.
