Ahmedabad: The Sarkhej police on Saturday found an illegal hookah bar operating at the Lounge Casanova near the Taj Hotel on Sindhu Bhavan Road.
Acting on a tip-off, the cops raided the Lounge Casanova, where 32 people were found consuming hookahs. The cops nabbed the manager along with the owner of the place for running a hookah bar disguised as a cafe. They also confiscated six hookahs and 75 flavor packets valued at around ₹17,000. These flavor samples have been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for analysis of the nicotine levels in them.
Police Inspector RK Dhulia from the Sarkhej police station commented on the operation, stating that several cafes on Bhavan Road have been operating as hookah bars in disguise. Our probe led us to the Lounge Casanova where the illegal activity was ongoing.
It is learned that the owner of this lounge is one Pinkesh Patel who runs the illegal hookah bar in partnership with Rajdeep Soni and Kamlesh Bagda.
Just a week ago, the Crime Branch also raided a similar cafe named Big Daddy Cafe in the Bopal area, where the Hookah bar was found to be operating illegally. DeshGujarat
