Uproar at Rajkot Airport as IndiGo grounds Mumbai flight

Rajkot: Passengers created an uproar at the Rajkot International Airport after IndiGo Airlines grounded its Rajkot-Mumbai flight following a delay of over 2:30 hours.

Uproar ensued at Hirasar Airport on Monday as the IndiGo flight from Rajkot to Mumbai, scheduled to depart at 7:40 pm, was delayed by the airline. The airline claimed that due to inclement weather conditions, the flight was unable to take off. However, passengers lost their cool and engaged in heated arguments with the airline staff when the flight was grounded after over two and a half hours of delay.

Indigo in a statement said, “Flight 6E 5285 from Rajkot had to be cancelled on May 13, due to bad weather in Mumbai. Passengers were served with refreshments and options to avail a full refund or reschedule their travel plan on next available flight. We regret the inconvenience caused to our customers due to factors beyond the airline’s control.”

It is noteworthy that with the ongoing summer vacations, numerous passengers had connecting flights to Goa from Mumbai. Consequently, the grounding of this flight not only disrupted their travel plans but also jeopardized their vacation arrangements. DeshGujarat
