NHAI revises toll rates at Khemana Toll Plaza on Palanpur-Abu Road Highway on NH 27

Palalpur: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has introduced revised toll fees for about 1,100 toll plazas nationwide, effective from today. Toll charges have been increased by 3% to 5% countrywide, including at the Khemana Toll Plaza on National Highway 27 in Gujarat.
National Highway 27 (NH 27) is an East-West arterial route in India, stretching from Porbandar to Silchar. It traverses several states, namely Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, and Assam. The Khemana toll plaza is situated in Banaskantha district on the Palanpur to Abu Road segment of this highway.
NHAI officials have clarified that this toll rate adjustment is part of an annual procedure, guided by fluctuations in the wholesale price index-based inflation. Traditionally, NHAI revises toll charges every April. However, this year, owing to the Lok Sabha general elections, the updated rates have been enforced starting from June 3rd. The decision to escalate toll plaza fees was taken two months following the directive from the Election Commission of India, aligning with the conclusion of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
