Junagadh Karni Sena leaders attacked amid love jihad dispute

Junagadh: A love jihad case in Junagadh took a violent turn when Manishaba Solanki, president of Rashtriya Karni Sena, and her colleague Kajalba Jadeja were attacked by Mumtaz Hamid Shahmadar at Junagadh Civil Hospital. The incident occurred during attempts to resolve a complaint against Hamid Shahamdar, husband of Mumtaz for abducting a married Brahmin woman from Ahmedabad and bringing her to Mendarda.

Yesterday, a Brahmin leader from Vadodara alerted Manishaba about the alleged abduction by Shahamdar. Concerned, Manishaba along with Kajalba Jadeja, another leader, rushed to Mendarda. There, leaders from both the Brahmin and Muslim communities intervened and facilitated a peaceful resolution. The Brahmin woman was convinced to return home.

However, when they attempted to contact Hamid regarding the incident, they found that he was at Junagadh Civil Hospital. They visited the hospital yesterday morning at 10.30 am, where they met Hamid’s wife, Mumtaz. In the course of explaining the situation, Mumtaz attacked Manishaba and Kajalba in public. Kajalba sustained injuries in her hand.

The incident was reported to the police, who registered a case against Mumtaz Hamid Shahmadar under IPC sections 323, 294(b), and 506(2). The police have initiated further action in response to the complaint filed by the Karni Sena leaders. DeshGujarat
