Girls falling from school van in Vadodara; shocking video goes viral
June 21, 2024
Vadodara: Two girls were injured on June 19 when the back door of their school van suddenly opened, causing them to fall out of the moving van. The van was passing by Tulsishyam Society on Tarsali Road, where this incident was captured on CCTV. The van driver, Prateek Parmar, was detained on the school campus as authorities launched an investigation.
The girls, Manali and Keshvi, were returning home from school when they fell from the moving van. Nearby residents provided immediate assistance, treating the girls before they were sent home.
A fellow student said the van door was slightly open, likely causing Manali and Keshvi to fall out. The driver often drives fast and brakes suddenly, which contributed to the incident. Eyewitness Ankurbhai Thakkar reported that the van’s door suddenly opened, causing the girls to fall and sustain injuries.
RTO inspector SP Suthar confirmed an ongoing investigation and stated that the Driving license of the van driver would be suspended. The investigation revealed that the driver Parmar is not the owner of the vehicle. Upon arrest, he claimed that the girls opened the door themselves. Moreover, he provided three thousand rupees each for the treatment of both girls.
The police are currently examining whether the door was defective and opened due to the driver’s negligence, or if the two girls opened it themselves. DeshGujarat
