The traders’ association had called for a half-day bandh to protest against attacks on traders. Incidents of motorists harassing traders by parking vehicles in front of shops for extended periods have become frequent, causing significant inconvenience to traders.
In a recent incident on Monday, a group of six to eight individuals reportedly bullied traders. Chiragbhai Delwadia, owner of Mann Traders shop at Kuber Corner on Balmandir Road in the taluka headquarters, was present in his shop around 3:00 pm when the group, including Saktisinh Jadeja and Jagdish Singh alias JD Jadeja from Dhrafa village, barged in.
Before Chiragbhai could react, the men assaulted him, hitting him with a stick. Chiragbhai sustained injuries to his left wrist, left leg, and head. The assailants fled after threatening him. Following the incident, Chiragbhai filed a complaint against the men at the local police station regarding the assault. DeshGujarat
