Ahmedabad: A major fire broke out today at house number 22 of German Vanya Bungalows in the Bhat area, resulting in the tragic death of a young man.
The fire started in the kitchen of this Rs. 10 crore bungalow owned by Vedprakash Dalwani. Vedprakash lives in the bungalow with his wife Binaben, daughter Ayushi, and their 21-year-old son Aditya, who was in his room during the incident. Aditya was unable to evacuate due to the grill on the windows as the fire rapidly spread through inflammable materials on the first floor.
Despite the prompt arrival of fire brigades from Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, Aditya succumbed to smoke inhalation. Firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze, eventually extracting Aditya’s charred remains by cutting through the balcony’s iron railing. Fortunately, the other family members managed to safely escape.
Chief Fire Officer Kaizad Dastoor of the Gandhinagar Fire Brigade led the firefighting efforts, using water cannons to bring the flames under control. Accessing Aditya’s room required cutting through the balcony railing, which was locked during the incident.
Fire Officer Dastur attributed the fire’s origin to a kitchen mishap that quickly engulfed the bungalow, tragically claiming Aditya’s life on the first floor.
Meanwhile, PI K. B. Sankhla of Adalaj Police Station indicated that initial investigations suggest a gas stove accident as the likely cause. Forensic investigations are ongoing to determine further details. DeshGujarat
