ACB Gujarat nabs another Talati mantri in bribe case

Surat: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat has apprehended another Talati mantri in a bribery case. Sonal Desai, a lady Talati, serves as a class-3 officer in the Gujarat government. She holds the position of Talati in Navi Pardi village, located in Kamrej taluka of Surat district.
According to the ACB, a complaint in this case was seeking the removal of two family members from the ancestral property’s Sidhi Liti Varasdari. An affidavit regarding this matter was submitted to the Navi Pardi gram panchayat office. The accused Talati mantri allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs. 9000 to proceed with the matter.
As the applicant was unwilling to pay the bribe, he approached the ACB. Subsequently, a trap was set up, leading to the arrest of the accused Talati mantri after she accepted the bribe in her office at the gram panchayat. Source: DeshGujarat
