Food vendors in Rajkot to observe bandh on July 10 against RMC’s strict actions
July 08, 2024
Rajkot: The street food vendors in the city have called for a one-day bandh on July 10th. The street vendors will keep their food shops and stalls closed. This bandh has been called because the Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) has tightened its grip on shops operating under unhygienic conditions or without Fire NOC or BU certificate.
The RMC has been inspecting and sealing shops after several reports of insects being found in food served at cafes, restaurants, and street food shops. The RMC has also been taking action against entities operating without fire safety NOCs or BU permits.
Demanding that time be given to these entities, the hotel, restaurant, cafe, and catering associations have called for the bandh. However, the RMC’s actions are for the safety of the public who visit these places. DeshGujarat
