Rajkot: The Rajkot Police have filed a complaint against Swamis from Swaminarayan Mandirs in Rajkot, Surendranagar, Surat, and Viramgam. Eight individuals, including JK Swami, VP Swami, and Devprakash Swami, are accused of defrauding people in the guise of acquiring land for constructing a Swaminarayan Temple. Jasmin Madhak of Rajkot has provided video evidence of the money transfers.

According to the complaint, an associate of the group gains the victim’s trust and introduces them to the Swami. Allegedly, the Swamis and their associates persuade people to buy land on their behalf for constructing a temple, cowshed, and ashram. The Swamis claim that due to sanctity restrictions, they couldn’t meet farmers directly.

The Swamis allegedly instructed people to purchase land on their behalf, promising to buy it back later. They claimed that donations from abroad would fund a grand temple. They said that if they directly negotiated with farmers, they would ask for higher land prices.

Then, the associates of Swamis allegedly acted as farmers and brokers. Once the token money was received, all involved individuals allegedly began to avoid those from whom they collected money.

The complainant, Jasmin Madhak, has approached the Rajkot Municipal Commissioner, highlighting the fraudulent activities of the Swaminarayan Swamis from Vadtal Swaminarayan Mandir. DeshGujarat
