Vadodara: The start of the new academic year at the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda (MSU) has seen a low enrollment in various undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma courses. This includes seven faculties and the Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya, with a total of 2,581 vacant seats.
The Arts faculty with 21 programmes has 2,030 seats, out of which only 1,001 are filled. The Science faculty has 341 vacant seats, Home Science has 427, Law has 264, Education & Psychology has 170, and Management (Executive MBA) has 52 vacant seats at the end of the admission season for the current academic year.
The admission season also highlights the low enrollment in Performing Arts courses, with only 21 students taking admission and only seven paying fees. Thus 35 seats are vacant.
The new online admission process through GCAS portal might be one of the reasons for the low enrollment. DeshGujarat
