Red alert in parts of Gujarat for 24 hrs; IMD forecasts heavy rains till July 29

Ahmedabad: The state of Gujarat has been battered by extremely heavy rainfall over the past few days. With a very active monsoon, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for the next 24 hours in some areas of Gujarat.
As per IMD’s latest bulletin, for the next 24 hours, a red alert is in place for Surat, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, Dadara Nagar Haveli. These areas are expected to experience very heavy rain, with extremely heavy falls in isolated places.
During this period, Panchmahal, Dahod, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Dang, Tapi, Amreli, Bhavnagar, and Gir Somnath are under an orange alert, indicating the possibility of very heavy rains.
Banaskantha, Patan, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Gandhinagar, Aravalli, Kheda, Ahmedabad, Anand, Mahisagar, Surendranagar, Rajkot, Porbandar, Junagadh, Botad and Diu have been marked with a yellow warning for expected heavy rains.
On July 27th, an orange alert for very heavy rains is in place for Surat, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, Dadara Nagar Haveli.
Meanwhile, Panchmahal, Dahod, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Dang, Tapi, Rajkot, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir Somnath and Diu are under a yellow warning for likely heavy rains.
On July 28th, Surat, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, Dadara Nagar Haveli, Amreli, Bhavnagar and Gir Somnath will remain on orange alert with the likelihood of heavy to very heavy rains.
A yellow warning is in place for Banaskantha, Patan, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Gandhinagar, Aravalli, Kheda, Ahmedabad, Anand, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Dang, Tapi, Surendranagar, Rajkot, Porbandar, Junagadh, Dwarka, Botad and Diu as heavy rains are likely in these areas.
On July 29th, Orange alert for very heavy rains is in place for Kheda, Ahmedabad, Anand, Panchmahal, Dahod, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, Dadara Nagar Haveli, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Dwarka, Gir Somnath and Diu.
Yellow warning is issued for Banaskantha, Patan, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Gandhinagar, Aravalli, Mahisagar, Surendranagar, Morbi, Botad and Kutch.
