Orange alert for next 48 hours in parts of Gujarat; IMD forecasts heavy rain until August 2

Gandhinagar: The intensity of rain has subsided in Gujarat over the last few days, and the Indian Meteorological Department has lifted the red alert for extremely heavy rainfall in parts of the state. However, during the next 48 hours, a few districts have been placed on orange alert, and after that, starting Wednesday, the intensity of the downpour is expected to decrease further, with only a few districts likely to experience heavy rain.

Here is the IMD’s latest forecast for heavy rains over the next four days until August 2nd:

An orange alert is in place for the next 24 hours in Banaskantha, Patan, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Gandhinagar, Aravalli, Kheda, Ahmedabad, Anand, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, Dadara Nagar
Haveli, Surendranagar, Rajkot, Porbandar, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Dwarka, Gir Somnath & Botad, as these areas are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rains.

Meanwhile, during the same period, a yellow warning has been issued for Jamnagar, Morbi, Kutch and in Diu, indicating a probability of heavy rains.

On July 30th, orange alerts is in place for Porbandar, Dwarka & Kutch. Yellow warning for likely heavy rains in Banaskantha, Patan, Sabarkantha, Navsari, Valsad, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Morbi, Gir Somnath, Daman, and Dadra Nagar Haveli

On July 31st, a yellow warning for very likely heavy rains has been issued for Navsari, Valsad, and Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli.

On August 1st, a yellow warning for very likely heavy rains has been issued for Navsari, Valsad, and Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli.

On August 2nd, a yellow warning for very likely heavy rains has been issued for Navsari, Valsad and in Daman, Dadara Nagar Haveli.
