On 31st July Morning, Gujarat completes 60% of average monsoon rainfall

Gandhinagar: The state of Gujarat has received 536.73 mm of rainfall this monsoon season so far, amounting to 60.78% of the average annual rainfall.

According to official data from the State Emergency Operation Centre as of 6 AM today, all 251 talukas in the state have received rainfall. Kutch has received the highest amount at 84.57%, followed by Saurashtra with 75.06% and South Gujarat with 69.99%. Central and North Gujarat have recorded 42.60% and 43.43% of the seasonal rainfall, respectively.

Valsad district in South Gujarat has recorded the most rainfall this season, with 1,537.67 mm, followed by Navsari at 1,504.33 mm and Junagadh at 1,214.0 mm.

Talukas that have received a total rainfall of over 1,000 mm (i.e., 39 inches) include Dwarka, Kalyanpur, Khambhalia, Porbandar, Junagadh, Junagadh City, Keshod, Maliya Hatina, Manavadar, Mendarda, Vanthali, Visavadar, Valod, Vyara, Dolvan, Bardoli, Kamrej, Mahuva, Palsana, Surat City, Umarpada, Chikhli, Gandevi, Jalalpore, Khergam, Navsari, Vansada, Dharampur, Kaprada, Pardi, Umbergaon, Valsad, Vapi, Subir, and Vaghai. At 7 AM, the Sardar Sarovar Narmada Dam is 55.03% full, Ukai is 58.15% full, Kadana is 32.14% full, and Dharoi is 37.94% full. These are Gujarat’s top four dams by designed gross storage capacity.
