Surat: The state Food and Drug Regulatory Authority conducted a raid at a factory in Olpad that was illegally manufacturing Ayurvedic products without a license. Around 15 samples of the suspected products were taken, and a total of products worth Rs. 11.60 lakh have been seized, said Food and Drug Regulatory Commissioner Dr. H. G. Koshia.

Giving further details, the Commissioner stated that a team of drug officers raided a factory in Surat that was manufacturing and selling Ayurvedic products. It was found that different types of Ayurvedic medicines, such as Kawath, Churna, and Joint Relief Oil, were being produced. During the inquiry, it was found that Jogi Herbaceuticals Private Limited was manufacturing these drugs without obtaining a license or permit. The factory was sealed, and production was immediately stopped.

Legal action is being taken against the Director of this firm, Nileshbhai Jogal, and Dr. Devangi Jogal. Raw materials worth ₹2 lakh, packing materials worth ₹70,000, finished products worth ₹2.90 lakh, and machinery worth ₹6 lakh for making churna and oil were seized. The total products worth Rs. 11.60 lakh were confiscated, the commissioner added.

He further stated that five samples of suspected Ayurvedic medicine and ten samples of raw materials produced have been taken and sent to the Government Laboratory in Vadodara for analysis. After receiving the analysis report, further legal action will be taken.

The Commissioner added that the system is committed to taking strict action against people adulterating drugs as well as those who are manufacturing fake allopathic, Ayurvedic, and cosmetic medicines illegally. DeshGujarat
