ACB Gujarat nabs another Talati Mantri in a bribe case

Surat: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat has nabbed an administrator of Vadesiya Gram Panchayat in Mandvi Taluka, Surat, in a bribe case involving ₹35,000.
The complainant, who was handling government works under Vadesiya Gram Panchayat, reported that money was deposited into their account after the completion of the work. The accused, Sanjay Bhai Popatbhai Patel, a Class 3 administrator at the Vadesiya Gram Panchayat Office and Talati-Mantri of the Fali Gram Panchayat, demanded a bribe of ₹42,500, of which ₹35,000 was to be paid first. The complainant did not want to pay this amount and contacted the ACB through the toll-free number 1064 to file a complaint.
The ACB organized a bribery trap today, during which the accused engaged in a conversation with the complainant and was caught red-handed accepting the bribe. DeshGujarat
