August 14, 2024
Narmada: Around 200 families who had previously converted to Christianity renounced it and reaccepted Hinduism last week at Janki Ashram in Dediapada.
The reconversion (Ghar Wapsi) ceremony was held on August 9th, which was Nag Panchami according to the Hindu calendar, as well as World Tribal Day. The ceremony took place at the Janki Ashram in Narmada district for these 200 tribal families from Dediapada and Sagbara.
The reconversion ceremony was conducted in the presence of saints and leaders of Hindu organizations. On this occasion, a Nav Kundi Havan was performed, and the families were welcomed with gifts such as Vastradan.
These families resolved to give up superstition and drug addiction and vowed not to abandon their original culture under any circumstances. The tribals who left Christianity and re-embraced Hinduism were also educated about Hindu deities and the traditional customs of their families. DeshGujarat
