Red alert for extremely heavy rains in parts of Gujarat till August 26; here’s IMD forecast

Surat: Heavy rains are back in the state of Gujarat since the last 3 days. Now, some parts of state have been placed under a red alert as they are likely to receive extremely heavy rains during the 23rd to 26th of August.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) in its latest forecast has issued red and orange alerts for several districts of the state during this period. Most of the state is likely to experience moderate to heavy rains over the next 7 days, until August 29th.
As per the IMD bulletin, a red alert with the possibility of heavy to very heavy rains at a few places with isolated extremely heavy falls is issued for Surat on August 23rd.
Meanwhile, an orange alert is in place for Amreli, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Gandhinagar, Aravalli, Kheda, Ahmedabad, Anand, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Dang, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, Dadara Nagar Haveli, Surendranagar, Bhavnagar, and Botad.
On August 24th, Valsad, Daman, and Dadara Nagar Haveli have been put on red alert with the prediction of heavy to very heavy rains at a few places with isolated extremely heavy falls. However, an orange alert is in place for Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Navsari, Amreli, and Bhavnagar.
On August 25th, a red alert is in place in Vadodara and Bharuch, and an orange alert has been issued for Anand, Dahod, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, Dadara Nagar Haveli, Amreli, and Bhavnagar.
On August 26th, Vadodara and Bharuch are on red alert with the forecast of heavy to very heavy rains at a few places with isolated extremely heavy falls.
Meanwhile, with the prediction of very heavy rains, Bhavnagar, Gandhinagar, Kheda, Ahmedabad, Anand, Panchmahal, Dahod, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Surat, Surendranagar, Rajkot, Amreli, and Botad are on orange alert.
On August 27th, heavy to very heavy rains are very likely in the districts of Surendranagar, Rajkot, Kheda, Ahmedabad, Anand, Jamnagar, Morbi, Dwarka, and Botad. Hence, an orange alert is in place in these districts.
On August 28th, an orange alert is in place for Rajkot, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Junagadh, and Dwarka.
On August 29th, heavy rains are very likely at isolated places in the districts of Saurashtra, namely Porbandar and Dwarka, but only a yellow warning has been issued for these places.
It is noteworthy that districts marked in red are on red alert, those marked in orange are on orange alert, districts marked in yellow are under warning, and areas marked in green are likely to receive light to moderate rain. DeshGujarat
