PM Modi to lay foundation stone of 4 new flyover bridges in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to lay the foundation stone for four six-lane overbridges to be constructed by the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) at Bakarol, Panjarapol, Ramol, and Hathijan junctions in the city at a cost of ₹391 crores on September 16.

More than 75,000 vehicles pass through these four junctions where these 27-meter-wide bridges will be constructed.

The AUDA has planned to build flyovers at 10 junctions along the Sardar Patel Ring Road in the city under the Asian Development Bank assistance project to alleviate traffic issues on this busy road. Of these, the construction of six bridges has begun. After the bhoomi pujan (foundation ceremony) of the four new bridges, are expected to be built within two and a half years.

Additionally, there will be an e-launch of 1,120 EWS (Economically Weaker Section) houses in the Zundal area on September 16. The cost of a one-and-a-half-room kitchen flat is set at ₹6 lakh, for which more than one lakh applications were received in the draw conducted for the year 2021-22.
