PM Modi to kick off RE-INVEST 2024 in Gandhinagar next week

Gandhinagar: The fourth Global RE-INVEST Renewable Energy Investors Meet and Expo-2024 will be held at Mahatma Mandir in the state capital from 16 to 18 September. The expo will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi, who will be visiting his home state of Gujarat.

RE-Invest 2024 is the fourth edition of India’s flagship event committed to showcasing the country’s renewable energy potential on the global stage. Organized by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), the event provides a premier platform for international dialogue, investment, and innovation in the renewable energy sector. Building on the success of previous editions, RE-INVEST 2024 aims to further strengthen India’s leadership in the renewable energy sector and accelerate global efforts toward a sustainable energy transition.

For the first time, RE-INVEST is being held outside Delhi, with Gujarat serving as the host state for this event. Given its leadership in India’s renewable energy landscape, Gujarat is the right choice as the host destination. Demonstrating its commitment to renewable energy, the state of Gujarat ranks first in wind power and second in solar power capacity. Going forward, Gujarat aims to be a leader in green hydrogen production, offshore wind development, and long-term energy storage systems. With the state’s vision and strong infrastructure, Gujarat is poised to usher in the next phase of India’s renewable energy revolution.

The world is witnessing unprecedented growth in renewable energy. Global renewable energy capacity today has reached 3,870 GW. This global shift, initiated by solar energy, reflects the broader movement toward renewable energy. India achieved 200 GW of installed non-fossil power capacity in 2024, positioning itself as a major player in the renewable energy landscape. Despite this progress, many developing regions still face a critical need for international cooperation and investment.

The primary objective of RE-INVEST 2024 is to promote global cooperation, drive investment, and foster innovation in renewable energy.

RE-Invest 2024 expects around 25,000 delegates, including energy ministers, investors, policymakers, and industry experts from around the world. The event will feature participants such as independent power producers, transmission companies, utilities, financing firms, academic institutions, and think tanks.

The conference will last for two and a half days, featuring around 50 sessions, including thematic, plenary, and partner country sessions. Topics will cover the latest ideas, technologies, and policy developments aimed at shaping future-ready infrastructure and addressing operational, financial, and technical challenges in the renewable energy sector.

The event will host over 200 exhibitors showcasing cutting-edge technologies and innovative solutions from both the public and private sectors. The exhibition will provide valuable networking opportunities and highlight advances in renewable energy technologies and services.

As, India targets 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030, the event aims to attract investment and spur innovation. Sustainable energy is committed to the national mission of accelerating future endeavors and establishing India’s position as a leader in the global renewable energy landscape. DeshGujarat
