Rs. 43 crore allocated for strengthening of road to Sasan Gir

Gir: Tourists will be able to more easily reach Sasan Gir in the Junagadh district, the last habitat of the Asiatic Lions. Today, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has approved the allocation of Rs. 43.50 crore for strengthening the 42 km long Junagadh-Khadiya-Mendarda-Sasan Road and Talala-Sasan Road, both of which are crucial for tourism. These roads will be strengthened to ensure that lakhs of tourists from all around the world who come to Sasan Gir to watch lions can travel easily.
Tourists coming for a lion safari in the Gir Sanctuary, as well as Devalia Park, use this route to reach Sasan Gir. Additionally, this route connecting Junagadh to Gir Somnath is also an important path for tourists visiting Jyotirling Somnath, the first of the twelve Jyotirlings.
