Surat: Police reportedly picked up a person named Nissar for stealing a loaded pistol of a police commando jawan who was on bandobast duty of Eid procession in Surat.

A loaded pistol of police commando Nilesh Patel who was on duty with ACP Pathan in Eid procession near Raghukul market went missing. Police started massive search for missing pistol and employed its full strength to find it.

The incident was taken even more seriously as the pistol was missing just a day ahead of Ganesh visarjan processions. Though the department was tight-lipped about this incident, a news report suggests that the accused was later identified as Nissar, who was picked up by Limbayat police and the pistol was recovered from him.
