Kutch: A 36 years old man from Jammu & Kashmir was nabbed at the Kutch border while trying to cross into Pakistan to meet his lover.
Security agencies apprehended the man, identified as Imtiyaz Sheikh, near the Khavda area in Kutch as he attempted to cross the India-Pakistan border. He intended to travel to the neighboring country to meet his alleged lover, who resides in the Punjab province of Pakistan. However, since the police and security agencies found nothing suspicious, he was later released. It is reported that the youth is allegedly mentally unstable.
Kutch (West) Superintendent of Police Sagar Bagmar told the media that Sheikh arrived in Khavda with the intention of crossing the border into Pakistan to meet a woman he had met online. He believed he could cross into Pakistan from that location. “We apprehended him after he reached Khavda on Tuesday.”
However, after conducting an initial investigation and verifying with Sheikh’s family and local police in Jammu and Kashmir, authorities determined that there was no security threat, and he was released later that evening, the senior cop added.
According to a police official, Sheikh was attracted to a Pakistani social media influencer from Multan and decided to meet her. He used Google Maps and determined that Kutch was his best option. He sought assistance from villagers to obtain permission from the authorities for legal entry into Pakistan, who alerted the police. DeshGujarat
