Surat PSI arrested for accepting Rs 1 Lakh bribe

Surat: The Anti-Corruption Bureau of Gujarat has nabbed a Sub-Inspector of Police in a bribery case involving a sum of ₹1 lakh near Bismillah Cafe opposite Surat Railway Station.
According to the details of the case, an application was filed against the complainant at the Athwa Lines Police Station. The accused, Lalitkumar Purohit, a Sub-Inspector (Class 3) posted at Gopipura Police Chowki, was investigating the application. During the investigation, the accused contacted the complainant and demanded a bribe of ₹1 lakh to dispose of the complaint against the plaintiff.
Since the complainant did not want to pay the bribe, he contacted the Banaskantha ACB. During the bribery trap set up based on the complaint, the accused was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe. DeshGujarat
