List of places in Gujarat that received 1 inch or more rainfall in 24 hours
September 27, 2024
Gandhinagar: As many as 82 talukas of Gujarat received 1 inch or more rainfall during 24 hours ending 6 am today as per the data available from the State government. Vyara, Songadh, Visavdar, Ghogha, Palitana top the list, followed by Vapi, Valbhipur, Pardi, Valsad and Bhavnagar.
The list shows that the latest round of monsoon has majorly affected the parts of South Gujarat and Saurashtra regions. Farmers in Saurashtra were hoping for another round of rain to save their standing crops including the flagship crop of groundnut. The State government had just couple of days ago extended agricultural power supply to 10 hours to save the crops. In less than a month, power demand in the State had gone up by double just before this latest round of rainfall, which is believed the last round of rain in Monsoon 2024 in the State.
The latest round of rain is a relief overall, as it is also filling whatever dams that had not achieved 100 percent storage. However the people have concerns about whether the rain would stop before Navratri which is starting from 3rd October. DeshGujarat
