Vadodara: A fire broke out in a pizza shop on Sama-Savli Road in the city this morning and spread to a hospital located on the upper floor of the building. The fire brigade, which arrived promptly, brought the blaze under control using water cannons. Most of the furniture in the restaurant was destroyed. Fortunately, there were no customers in the restaurant as it was early morning.
The fire erupted in Trigno Pizza, located on the first floor of Siddharth Annexe 4, and quickly spread to Avni Women’s Hospital on the second floor. As soon as the fire was reported, the fire department and police teams rushed to the spot. Due to the intense fire, the building’s glass shattered with a loud noise. No casualties have been reported so far. The fire department team has now controlled the blaze and begun the cooling process.
It is learned that when the fire broke out, the pizza outlet’s staff tried to extinguish it using the outlet’s fire safety equipment, but it failed to activate, and the fire went out of control. In-charge Chief Fire Officer Nikunj Azad stated that the restaurant had previously received safety notices. Today, the restaurant’s power connection has been disconnected, and further action is being taken.
A local resident reported that as the fire spread to Avni Women’s Hospital on the upper floor, a woman who was about to undergo delivery was immediately moved to another location by the doctors. DeshGujarat
