Ahmedabad: Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project will have eight (08) stations in Gujarat starting from Sabarmati, Ahmedabad, Anand, Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Bilimora and Vapi. The foundation work on all 8 stations is completed and the construction of superstructures is at an advanced stage.

The bullet train stations are conceived as a gateway to a modern way of living. The design of each of the stations on the MAHSR line will reflect the spirit of the city it is coming up in. This will bring about an instant connection with the local populace, and promote a sense of ownership of the high-speed system. From an architectural point of view, it is simple to make a modern-looking structure. But, to establish a connect with the local environment, the idea was to pick some elements of the city that locals are proud of and then build the concept on those elements.

All the stations will meet international standards in functionality and operations and will have soothing colours and all basic amenities like signages, seating arrangements in waiting areas, nursery, business class lounge, smoking rooms, public information and announcement system, kiosks, etc. Some of the stations will be developed as a transport hub through integration with other modes of transportation for better, faster and hassle-free connectivity to and from the station, such as autos, buses and taxis.

The stations will have an inclusive design for Divyang (differently-abled) passengers. A wheelchair-friendly design, lowered ticketing counters with braille instructions, tiles on the floor for guidance, dedicated washrooms, braille buttons inside elevators are some of the features.

Sabarmati Bullet Train Station

Sabarmati being the terminal station of the corridor is inspired by Mahatma Gandhi’s charkha of Sabarmati Ashram.
First floor slab casting work is completed. Concourse floor slab is nearing to completion. Work in progress on rail level slab.

Ahmedabad Bullet Train Station
Ahmedabad Bullet Train station is inspired by the rich cultural and historical ethos of the city. The roof depicts a canvas for hundreds of kites whereas the façade picks a pattern inspired by the intricate lattice work of iconic Syed Siddique’s Jaali.
Concourse, Rail and Platform level slab casting work is completed. Station entry building work in progress.

Anand Bullet Train Station
The station façade and interior design is inspired from the fluid nature, shape and color of milk droplets, owing to its vicinity to milk capital of India, Anand. Concourse, Rail and Platform level slab casting work is completed. Structural stell work of roof is completed. Roof sheeting work is nearing completion. Façade elevation work is in progress.

Vadodara Bullet Train Station
The design of the station is inspired from the profile and foliage of a “Banyan Tree”, owing to the copious amount of Banyan (Vad) trees found in the city.
First floor slab casting work is in progress. Out of 10 slabs, 03 has been completed.

Bharuch Bullet Train Station
The concept for the design of faced and interiors of station is designed under cotton weaving to honour the 150 years old art and its artists.
Rail level slab casting work is completed. Platform slab casting work in progress. Steel structure erection work in progress.

Surat Bullet Train Station
Surat is famous for its diamond industry, the concept for the design of façade and interiors of the station are representation of a diamond facet.
The steel structural work of the building is completed and the finishing work is in progress. Plumbing, firefighting and electrical works are in progress. Approach and cross over section erection work (towards Mumbai) is completed. Façade and roof sheeting mock up work in progress.

Bilimora Bullet Train Station
The station façade design is planned as an abstract representation of Mango orchards.
Rail and Platform level slab casting work is completed. Structural steel erection work is nearing completion.

Vapi Bullet Train Station
The concept for the design of façade and interiors of station are representation of speed.
Rail and Platform level slab casting work is completed. Structural steel erection work is completed. Electrical work for station is in progress.
