Terminal of 84 trains at Ahmedabad Railway Station to change

Ahmedabad: The Ministry of Railways has announced the shifting of terminal stations for several trains originating or terminating at Kalupur Railway Station in Ahmedabad. These changes aim to facilitate ongoing infrastructure work being carried out by the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) and the Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA).
As per the notification issued by the Railway Board on November 25, 2024, the terminals of two trains will be shifted from Kalupur Railway Station to Sabarmati Railway Station. Similarly, the originating station for 12 trains will now be Maninagar Railway Station, while the terminal for 25 trains has been moved to Vatva Railway Station. Additionally, the terminal for four trains will be shifted to Asarva Railway Station.
Beyond Ahmedabad, four trains will now originate and terminate at Rajkot station instead of Kalupur. Furthermore, the halts of three trains at Kalupur Railway Station will be withdrawn for one year. In the second year after these changes are implemented, 34 trains will no longer stop at Kalupur but will halt at Maninagar and Sabarmati stations instead.
The Ahmedabad-Yog Nagari Rishikesh Yoga Express will now commence and conclude its journey at Sabarmati railway station. Additionally, 12 trains, including the Karnavati Express to Mumbai, AC Double Decker Express, Gujarat Express, Ahmedabad-Asansol Weekly Express, Ahmedabad-Gorakhpur Express, Ahmedabad-Patna Azimabad Express, Ahmedabad-Darbhanga Sabarmati Express, and the Ahimsa Express to Pune, will now originate from Maninagar instead of Ahmedabad’s Kalupur station.
Approximately 25 trains, such as the Patna-Azimabad Express, Gorakhpur Express, Darbhanga Jan Sadharan Express, Ahimsa Express, Asansol Express, Gujarat Express from Mumbai, Chennai Central-Ahmedabad Express, and AC Double Decker Express, will now terminate at Asarwa. The Ahmedabad-Chennai Central and Ahmedabad-Puri routes will now start and end at Asarwa.
Furthermore, trains namely the Ahmedabad-Varanasi City (Sabarmati Express), Ahmedabad-Yesvantpur Express, Ahmedabad-Chennai Humsafar Express, and Ahmedabad-Pune Duronto Express will be extended to Rajkot.
The Railways have confirmed that the Jodhpur-Bandra, Bhuj-Bandra, and Porbandar-Dadar services will bypass Ahmedabad, instead stopping at Sabarmati and Maninagar. In the subsequent year, 34 trains will skip Ahmedabad station, utilizing Sabarmati and Maninagar as alternative stops. These include major trains like Rameshwaram-Okha, Puri-Okha, KSR Bengaluru-Gandhidham, KSR Bengaluru-Jodhpur, Mysore-Ajmer, Ernakulam-Okha, Indore-Gandhidham, Dadar-Bikaner, and Dadar-Ajmer.
