Dahod: The Gujarat Police have been using drone technology for surveillance and combating crime. In one such latest case, Dahod Police nabbed a member of an interstate theft gang from a farm using live drone footage today.
Acting on a tip-off about the whereabouts of the accused, Rajesh alias Raji Lala Bhabhor, a suspect involved in multiple temple and Jain temple burglaries in Gujarat and Rajasthan, the police set up a surveillance operation in his residential area. As soon as the accused realized the police were closing in, he attempted to flee, but the police tracked him down using drones and apprehended him after a chase through the farms.
Further questioning led the police to another suspect, Dilip Manilal Soni, who had committed burglaries in multiple locations, including Vadodara, Gandhinagar, and Panchmahal. The police recovered silver jewelry and a motorcycle worth over Rs. 7 lakh from the two suspects and have initiated the process to arrest their accomplices.
