Gandhinagar: Gujarat’s law minister, Rushikesh Patel, today launched the “e-payment” service for depositing the contribution amount of the PTA (Public Trust) Fund at all Charity Commissioner offices in the state, starting from Gandhinagar. With the introduction of this facility, trustees across Gujarat will benefit from a more convenient system. To make a contribution, trustees can now complete the e-payment on the website https://charitycommissioner.gujarat.gov.in.

Currently, a total of 276,652 trusts are registered in the state. As of October 31, 2024, Rs. 10.55 crore was collected in contributions last year, the government statement said.

It is also important to note that out of the total registered trusts, excluding trusts working for service sectors like medical and education, contributions are collected by the charity system from only about 1.65 lakh trusts. From now on, the management of these 1.65 lakh trusts will not have to visit the charity office in person to pay their contributions, as the entire system has been made available online.

Law Minister Hrishikesh Patel had earlier instructed the setup of an entire system to prevent problems in this payment process, as part of which this facility has been made available. With this, they will be able to easily pay their annual contribution online through “e-payment” at any time, from anywhere, and from any corner of the world.

On the occasion of the launch, the online contribution system was inaugurated by paying the amount through the “e-payment” method.

At the launch, the Joint Secretary of the Law Department, Deputy Charity Commissioner, Charity Commissioner, and trustees were present.

It is worth mentioning that this entire system has been created with the main objective of resolving the inconvenience, obstacles, and difficulties, including commuting, physical, mental, and financial challenges faced by trustees of public trusts in paying their contributions, visiting offices in person, and spending money.
