Dahod Police Constable Arrested in ACB Trap for Accepting Bribe

Dahod: A police constable from Dahod Town A-Division Police Station was arrested on March 8, 2025, by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for accepting a bribe of Rs. 3000/- from a citizen.
The accused, identified as Rameshbhai Maganbhai Vadhamsi, had initially demanded Rs. 5000/- from the complainant to settle an application against them. However, when the complainant expressed their inability to pay the full amount, the constable agreed to accept Rs. 3000/-.
The complainant, unwilling to pay the bribe, reported the matter to the ACB. A trap was laid, and the constable was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe near the gate of Dahod Town A-Division Police Station in the presence of witnesses.
The constable has been arrested, and further investigation is underway. The successful operation was carried out by a team led by Mrs. R.B. Prajapati, In-charge Field Police Inspector, ACB Panchmahal Unit, under the supervision of Mr. B.M. Patel, Assistant Director, ACB Panchmahal Unit, Godhra.
