Maximum temperature crosses 40°C mark in Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot

Ahmedabad: Gujarat continues to experience intense heat even though it is only March, as maximum temperatures soar above 40°C in several cities. Ahmedabad recorded 40.4°C, while Surat and Rajkot reported 41.8°C and 41.7°C, respectively. Bhuj registered the highest temperature at 42.0°C, marking a significant deviation from normal levels.
The ongoing heat wave has affected multiple regions, with Gandhinagar, Amreli, and Porbandar also witnessing extreme temperatures. High humidity levels further intensify discomfort, particularly in coastal areas. With no rainfall reported, residents are advised to take necessary precautions against heat-related illnesses.
On the other hand, the India Meteorological Department has issued a heat wave warning for several districts of Gujarat, including Banaskantha, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Surat, Surendranagar, Rajkot, Porbandar, Junagadh, Morbi, Amreli, and Kutch, for today and tomorrow. DeshGujarat
