March 18, 2025
Gandhinagar: Civil Aviation Minister Balwantsinh Rajput today said in the State Assembly that a decision has been made to construct an interstate airport at Jhalod in Dahod district. The initiative aims to enhance civil aviation infrastructure in the state and promote interstate tourism, he added.
Responding to a sub-question, the Minister said that construction work for the interstate airport at Jhalod is currently in full swing, and the airport will be operational soon. He clarified that the airport development in Dahod does not involve private land, as 100% of the required land will be the Government land.
The Minister further highlighted that the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway passes through Dahod district, and with Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh bordering the area, the new airport will offer air connectivity to not just the areas of Gujarat but also the areas of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. As there is no airport within a 150 km radius of Dahod, the project is also expected to boost the district’s economy, he added. DeshGujarat
