March 19, 2025
Ahmedabad: A bogus hospital operating under the name of “Three Star Hospital” has been uncovered by authorities in the Naroda area of the city. The facility, located in the Shikhar Avenue complex in Nana Chiloda, was allegedly run without proper registration or medical qualifications.
The owner of the hospital, identified as Dharmendra alias Sanjay Patel, has been booked by the Naroda police. Patel reportedly rented the premises and established the hospital, complete with an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and trauma center, without any legal authorization.
Investigations revealed that the hospital was operating with a forged “Form-C” bearing the stamps and seals of the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC). Patel, who lacks the necessary medical degrees to provide treatment, allegedly treated patients and issued fake medical reports, case papers, and treatment certificates.
Furthermore, he is accused of misusing doctor registration numbers issued by the Gujarat Medical Council to create fraudulent treatment certificates. Patel also allegedly created fake seals in the name of the unregistered hospital.
Patel is accused of defrauding patients by charging them for illegal treatments. He also allegedly prepared false treatment summary files and facilitated the submission of fraudulent medical insurance claims totaling ₹2,08,672 for four policyholders.
The Naroda police are conducting further investigations into the matter. DeshGujarat
