ACB Gujarat nabs constable for seeking ₹60K bribe after finding beer bottle in van

Sabarkantha: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat today nabbed Rakesh Kumar Chandubhai Dabhi (34), an unarmed police constable, red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹12,500 near Poshina Police Station in Sabarkantha.
According to ACB, the complainant was stopped by the accused while returning from Rajasthan in a rented Eco car. The constable found a bottle of beer in the vehicle and initially demanded ₹2 lakh to settle the matter, later reducing it to ₹60,000. The accused took ₹2,000 on the spot. Subsequently, he took ₹4,000 from the complainant after picking him up from Poshina Bazar and later confiscated the complainant’s mobile, demanding additional payment.
Later, the accused demanded ₹10,000 more, which the complainant had received on his phone via UPI. Frustrated by repeated demands, the complainant approached ACB. Based on the complaint, a trap was set, and the accused was caught red-handed accepting ₹12,500. The entire incident was recorded as evidence. DeshGujarat
