Traffic Restrictions, Diversions Announced for IPL 2025 Matches at Motera Stadium, Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: City Police Commissioner G.S. Malik (IPS) has issued a public notice under Section 33(1)(B)(C) of the Gujarat Police Act, 1951, enforcing traffic restrictions and diversions in Ahmedabad during the upcoming IPL 2025 matches at Narendra Modi Stadium, Motera.
A large number of VVIPs, spectators, players, and around 45 celebrities are expected to attend these matches. To ensure smooth vehicular movement and prevent road accidents, traffic restrictions and diversions will be implemented on the match days as follows:
Traffic movement will be prohibited on the stretch between Janpath T Junction and Stadium Main Gate as well as from Krupa Residency to Motera Gam T Junction.
Authorities have suggested alternative routes, including one from Tapovan Circle to ONGC Crossroads and from there to Visat T Junction, to Janpath T Junction towards Powerhouse Crossroads and to Prabodh Rawal Circle. Another proposed route runs from Krupa Residency through Sharan Status Crossroads and then to Koteshwar Road and Apollo Circle.
The following vehicles will be allowed within the restricted zone: Government vehicles on duty, Fire brigades and ambulances, Vehicles associated with cricket matches, Residents of the restricted area
Violators of these directives will face legal action under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023 and Section 131 of the Gujarat Police Act. Additionally, all police officers from Joint/Addl. Commissioner to Constable rank are authorized to enforce this order. DeshGujarat.
