IMD issues red alert for severe heatwave in Kutch; Orange, Yellow alerts for other parts of Gujarat

Kutch: The India Meteorological Department (IMD), in its latest forecast, has issued a red alert for severe heatwave conditions in isolated pockets of Kutch on April 6 and 7. An orange alert has been issued for Morbi and Rajkot, while a yellow alert is in place for several other parts of Gujarat.
According to the IMD bulletin, severe heatwave conditions are very likely to prevail in a few pockets of Kutch on April 6 and 7, prompting the red alert. Orange alerts have also been issued for Morbi and Rajkot on both days.
Additionally, a yellow warning has been issued for Porbandar, Junagadh, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Patan, and Mehsana.
For April 8 and 9, orange alerts are in place for Kutch, while yellow warnings have been issued for isolated pockets of North Gujarat, including Banaskantha, Patan, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, and Gandhinagar, as well as parts of Saurashtra, namely Rajkot, Junagadh, and Morbi. It is notable that Junagadh will not be under a heatwave alert on April 9.
The IMD bulletin further states:

A rise in maximum temperatures by 2°C is expected over the next three days, with no significant change thereafter.

Maximum temperatures are likely to range between 40°C and 43°C over parts of Gujarat and Saurashtra-Kutch.

Severe heatwave conditions are very likely to prevail in Kutch from April 6 to 7, and in isolated pockets on April 5, 8, and 9.

Saurashtra districts may also experience severe heatwave conditions on April 6 and 7, and heatwave conditions on April 5, 8, and 9.

Heatwave conditions are likely in isolated pockets across Gujarat Region from April 6 to 9.
