Anand: The local police on Tuesday arrested two individuals for allegedly operating an illegal slaughterhouse. The arrests followed a raid conducted on Saturday, where a slaughterhouse was found inside a residential house in the Khatkiwad area on Anand Polson Dairy Road.
During the raid, police seized 705 kg of beef, slaughtering tools, and a mobile phone — all valued at approximately ₹1.48 lakh. The main accused, Asif alias Raju Alarakha Ahmed Kureshi from Tashkent Society, and his associate initially fled the scene but were arrested on Tuesday. The second accused has been identified as Rabbari Kadarbhai Kureshi, 42, from Pipaliya Bhagol, Umreth, now residing in Bismillah Society, Anand.
Further investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of the network, with suspicions that the beef was being supplied to Vadodara and other nearby cities. DeshGujarat
